Your practice stays on your phone. Shuji has no accounts, no ads and no tracking.

Sharing your drawings

Off unless you turn it on. With Share my drawings on in Settings, each drawing you check is sent to our server to help improve the grading: the strokes, the character asked for, how it was graded and whether you corrected the grade, the prompt type, whether help was used, how long it took, the app version, the date, and a random ID created on your phone.

Nothing else is sent: no name, email, account, location or device identifier. The server keeps no IP addresses. The drawings are used only to improve the grading and are never sold or shared.

Settings shows your ID. Delete my shared drawings removes everything sent under it and gives you a new one. Turning sharing off stops it and discards anything not yet sent. See deleting your data.

Purchases

The optional supporter purchase goes through Google Play, under Google's privacy policy. Opening Support the app loads Google's billing library, which may send Google diagnostic data.

Reminders

The daily reminder is a notification from your own phone. It sends nothing anywhere.

Target audience

Shuji is for anyone who wants to learn to write Japanese, or keep in practice. It is not directed at children under 13.
